We're here

Don and i both got frisked at the airport, my right sleeve was particularly interesting to the tsa. ?

Guy on the plane kept asking me what stuff on the ground was, I must look like a master cartographer.  He was amazed by the irrigated fields.  I guess it does look different than his hometown of Detroit.  He had a new iPhone and was trying to figure out how to get on the plane's WiFi, he asked Sam and I if we were techie, we both demurred not wanting to get roped into and hour of tech support.  I ended up helping him out so he could watch football and then he turned it off to save his battery and continued to play "what's that on the ground" with me.

We've got a ford fusion despite me eyeing the camaros, even if it would have meant ditching our luggage because there's no trunk space.  Some mustangs also.  It took an inappropriate amount of time for us to figure out the car's air conditioning and involved cryogenically freezing don at first.  But there was 80's on 8 on the XM radio.  Hard to believe that Joe Jackson was once considered kind of punk.

Don was asked what we were here for and we decided to call it a technology conference from now on because it sounds cooler than internet librarian, but really, anything would.  We could say D&D conference and probably sound cooler.

This evening we walked down to the wharf looking like the least intimidating gang ever, but I did discover that one of our group is secretly Batman.  I won't tell you who, but I was surprised.

Not related, but sea otters are very noisy at night.

Tomorrow is an early day, which at that hour better include the greatest bagel and Continental breakfast ever.

Everyone was making fun of me because I thought the art installation in the San Jose airport was so neat, then I looked it up and justified my fascination.  http://www.ecloudproject.com/index.html

We saw a guy panhandling with the greatest trained cat ever, that was just sitting sleeping on a pillow next to him.  It had a leash, but didn't seem to need it.

And that was day 0.  Already filled with new facts.  I'll try to bring everyone some fresh fish home in my luggage.

I think that was everything.  Stay tuned.

  2. Do sea otters bark? Are you sure you weren't hearing seals?

    1. I don't know, it was dark, but you're probably right, there were a lot of signs about sea otters so I just figured.
