This escalator is a witch

This escalator has been moving in the opposite direction I want to go, every single time, no matter if I'm going up or down the stairs.  How is that possible?

    It's possible you just like going against the flow (of traffic).

      The escalator goes in both directions and every time, it's going in the wrong direction.
